Papua New Guinea Gallery
While working with medical ships in the area, I was privileged to meet and be profoundly changed by the rural villagers of Papua New Guinea. Along the Sepik river lie hundreds of secluded, elusive villages, home to strong mothers, diligent father, generations of doting grandparents, and many contagiously joyful little ones. We delivered basic medical care - some of the only medical care many of the village residents would receive in their lifetimes - and delivered water filters. But mostly, I ran and laughed with cute and cunning boys and girls, had my face smeared with yellow dancing paint while the mud squished up between my toes, and gained many wise aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters.
